Ancestry by DNA ™ research on full-blooded indigenous populations from around the world revealed several Ancestry Informative Markers (AIM) - genetic markers unique to specific populations, ethnicity and/or deep ancestral migration patterns. These DNA markers, which are relatively unique to specific populations, predict your Most Likely Estimate (MLE) of inheritance percentages.

APPROXIMATE ANCESTRAL REGIONS - EURO DNA

DNA does not follow modern day political borders. For example, someone living in modern day Austria will have a genetic makeup that includes Austrian, German, Prussian, Hungarian, Roman and Celtic mixes. While it's not currently possible to identify "Austrian DNA", Ancestry By DNA ™ can differentiate between major geographic regions such as Northern European (which includes Austria, Germany, and regions to the northwest) or Middle Eastern (which includes Turkey, Egypt and/or Israel). Of course, someone living in modern day Austria is likely to have an MLE percentage in both groups.
