Winfrey won’t take Paternity test “ever”

Oprah Winfrey has said she won’t “ever” participate in a DNA paternity test to determine who her biological father is. Would you?

Yesterday the New York Post reported that Oprah Winfrey has refused the offer of a paternity test from a man claiming to be the talk-show queen’s biological father.

The man, 84-year old Norh Robinson is from Kosciusho Miss, the rural town that Winfrey left at age 6.

While Winfrey says she’s “never heard of him.” Robinson says he sent her a letter a year ago asking for a meeting and offering to take a paternity test. Robinson claims he wants nothing to do with Oprah’s vast fortune and only wants to meet his alleged daughter before he dies.

It’s curious though, that he has not come forward with this until now. He was not a part of Oprah’s life growing up, and he now wants to make a connection. Oprah has been heavily criticized in the press for refusing to take part in the paternity test, but does she owe him anything?

Put yourself in her place: If a stranger came forward claiming to be a long-lost relative and asking for a DNA test would you do it?

I have been tinkering with this site all day and thought it was time to share. It covers a lot of random information about genetics to help make sense of a complex science. It includes great articles about the ethics of stem cell research and more. It also has interactive tools to see the likelihood of having certain eye colors in your family.

I like the eye color paternity test on our site as it has more options for eye color, but the test on the site listed above explains some of the science behind it that our site does not … yet. I hope you get a kick out of it like I did.

I especially loved learning more about genetically modified foods.

Eye Color Paternity Test?

Before people actually invest in a paternity test they want a first step. Maybe something that can give them a hint as to whether this is necessary in the first place. We have something that will work for just this situation. Our Eye Color Paternity Test will allow you to enter the eye color of the Biological Mother, Alleged Father, and Child to see if a match is possible. While this step does not replace a DNA Test, it can give some information on the likelihood of a possible inclusion or exclusion.
