biological mother
Definition:
In paternity tests (or other DNA tests), the biological mother is the mother of the child being tested.
When the mother participates in the DNA test, she is assumed to be the mother (the test does NOT examine whether she is the mother). Having the mother tested allows the DNA laboratory to see what DNA was passed from mother to child and helps them focus on that part of the child\\\\\\\'s DNA that must have come from the child\\\\\\\'s father.
