Definition:
A gene is smaller part of a DNA chromosome usually represented by string of data like 'GATTACA' (sometimes the string can be very long, with thousands of letters).
Genes are sometimes respsonsible for traits such as 'blue eyes' or 'light skin.' Other genes, like those used in paternity testing, are not linked to a physical trait.
