Home vs Legal DNA Tests
Home DNA Tests
Legal DNA testing provides proof of identification for each participant that accompanies your test results and generally is court admissible.
Because the identity of each participant has not been verified, these results will typically not be admissible in court.
Includes:
DNA collection kit for sample collection from all participants
Lab processing using the same DNA extraction and reporting process as a legal test
Reports available on-line, by phone, or by mail.
Can be converted to a Legal Test before testing by calling 1-888-404-GENE. Additional fees apply.
Legal DNA Tests
Results from a personal DNA test and legal DNA test have the same conclusive ranges and probabilities of paternity.
Legal DNA tests, under the guidelines of the AABB and ISO, require an independent collector to verify the identification of each participant and witness the collection.
Includes:
Witnessed collection for all participants at one of our many collection sites. The collector sends specimens directly to the lab for testing.
Lab processing in our accredited lab
Proof of identification for each participant accompanies your test results and renders them court admissible
Reports available on-line, or by phone, with official results sent by mail to you or your attorney.
