Wal-Mart began carrying the IDENTIGENE DNA Paternity Test Collection Kit November 3, 2008.

Although the IDENTIGENE kit is not intended for legal purposes, consumers who wish to use the results for legal proceedings may contact IDENTIGENE customer service to coordinate specific specimen collection and chain-of-custody procedures with a third-party. While the specimen collection process and handling is different for legal testing, the laboratory analysis and reporting for IDENTIGENE DNA testing is the same for both legal and personal purposes.

Suggested retail price for an IDENTIGENE DNA Paternity Test Collection Kit is $29.99. The Wal-Mart.com suggested price is the same, plus shipping. The laboratory and processing fee for the personal test is $119. The laboratory and processing fee for test results for legal proceedings is $319.
