ABO BLOOD TYPES EXPLAINED
Human blood types stem from dominant/recessive genes - similar to Mendel's pea plant flowers. Dominant blood types include "A" and "B"; type "O" is recessive. Alleles for type "A" and type "B" blood are co-dominant which means that, when both are present, the resulting blood type is "AB." The table below illustrates possible blood types resulting from common blood types, "A", "B", "AB", and "O".. If the mother's and father's blood types are known:
